What is the difference between the Walking Tour and the Haunted
Trolley Tour?
The Trolley Tour visits approximately 20 haunted locations. Of these 20 sites, we mention some
while passing, we stop at others for a few minutes, and we stop for a length of time at three. In
contrast, the walking tour visits fewer sites, but each site is given more time and detail. In turn, the
walking tour is more intimate, and we stay in Independence Park and Society Hill. The Trolley Tour
covers a larger area, including the Betsy Ross House, Christ Church Cemetery and Pennsylvania
Hospital, which are not visited on the walking tour. A Ghost Tour would be incomplete without
stopping at Washington Square and Independence Hall; therefore, there is some cross-over
between the tours.

tickets in advance online or at a ticket location to ensure your spot on the tour. Discount applies only
to tickets purchased in advance online.
Haunted Trolley Tour: Yes. Call 215.413.7000 to make reservations. Advanced ticket
purchase is also required.

Walking Tour: No, but it is recommended due to the popularity of the tours.

Where do the tours begin?
Walking Tour: Signers Garden at 5th and Chestnut Streets.
Haunted Trolley Tour: Outside of the Bourse, on 5th Street between Market and Chestnut
Streets.
What time should we get there?
Arrive no later than 15 minutes before tour time.
What should we wear?
Wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
What happens if it rains?
Walking Tour: We make every attempt to conduct the tours; therefore, we do go in the rain. (So
bring an umbrella!) If weather conditions become severe, the walking tour may be cancelled. This
decision is typically made at tour time. Cancelled tours may be rescheduled or refunded.
Haunted Trolley Tour: Runs rain or shine.
What are the average sizes of the tours?
Tour sizes are limited and additional guides are called in as needed.
Where do we park?
There are ample metered parking spots and parking garages nearby. The tours are easily
accessible by public transportation as well. See SEPTA, NJ Transit, PATCO, Amtrak, and Greyhound
for more details.
Where do the tours go and how much walking is involved?
Independence Park, Society Hill and Old City. This map will give you a general sense of the area
covered by the tours. The walking tour involves less than a mile of walking. The trolley tour involves
an optional five-minute walk.
Are the tours wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The Haunted Trolley Tour requires 24 hour advanced notice.
Do you tell true stories or did you make them up?
All stories are historically documented through interviews and research, and they weave together the
history and haunted tales associated with the sites. They are based on the book, Ghost Stories of
Philadelphia, PA.
Are the tours suitable for children?
Yes, the tours are family appropriate, combining history, folklore and ghost stories.
Are cameras allowed on the tours?
Yes! In fact, many people have sent us creepy photos they have taken on the tour.
